Belmont Services Bowls Club at Carina, having been closed down for over two months, is now making plans for re-opening in accordance with isolation conditions.
With its excellent greens having been maintained during the closure, the club is currently making a gradual return with controlled “Roll-ups” for the regulatory numbers of club bowlers under the isolation conditions.
At this stage, “Roll-ups” for limited numbers of registered Belmont club bowlersare being held on Booking for Roll-ups can be made by calling Sandy at the club on Tuesdays. Roll-ups for limited numbers of club bowlers are being held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only.
The club has used the time of closure as the opportunity to look at the fine-tuning of procedures and operations of the Club.
With the operation of its “Hibiscus Room” function room also closed till the restrictions are lifted on Licensed Clubs, the club will be seeking the return of current or new tenants and function bookings.
Through the electronic circulation of monthly newsletters and updates, communication has been maintained by email and phone calls which has created effective “networking”.
Club President, Noel Seawright said, “The executive is carrying out a strategy to re-open the club to get bowls up and going again. I look forward to welcoming all bowlers back and as always, we welcome new members to join us.”
