Labor Member for Griffith Terri Butler MP has congratulated Queensland Theatre for securing the rights to commission and present the world premiere of the stage version of Trent Dalton’s hit novel Boy Swallows Universe.

Boy Swallows Universe recently won four Australian Book Industry Awards, has been longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award and became Australia’s number 1 fiction book recently.
 
"I am excited to hear that Sam Strong will return to direct Tim McGarry’s adaptation of the novel," she said.

"I congratulate Amanda Jolly and her team for making this exciting collaboration happen. I also extend my congratulations to Mr Dalton on his success with this book and the future adaptation of it.

"I look forward to seeing the production at next year's Brisbane Festival," she said.
