John and his wife Helen were originally animal carers.  John went on to form SCRUB Catchment Care Group, aiming to protect and improve the local bushland and educate others in bushland care. John also works with local social enterprise B4C – the Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee, volunteering six days a week for them as nursery procurement officer and a key supporter of the Landcare Services Unit that works on over 100 sites.
